Geographic Information Systems in Steuben County

The Steuben County Planning Department has maintained a GIS, with the help of the Real Property Tax and 911 departments, since the mid 1990’s.  The Planning Department GIS is used mainly for mapping support for the departments and different agencies and municipalities within the County and for maintenance of our layers.  GIS software from ESRI is used in all GIS capable departments.  In January 2007, a GIS Needs Assessment was completed which studied current GIS capabilities and needs as well as possible future applications.
