Energy & Environment

The Steuben County Planning Department encourages local energy production to improve power supply stability and advance the sustainable development of the County.  Protecting the natural environment is also vital to economic growth and quality of life.  To advance this goal, we work in partnership with other governments, agencies, and private entities.

The Steuben County Water Quality Coordinating Committee (WQCC) was established in 1992 to facilitate increased coordination of local, state, and national efforts related to water quality within Steuben County.

Steuben County Solid Waste & Recycling program is handled through a division of Public Works.
