911 Emergency Notification
Steuben County Emergency Notification System
Steuben County has implemented the CodeRED system, a high-speed emergency notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based Emergency Communications Network.
The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the County’s emergency communications outreach to both citizens and County personnel by using the system capabilities to send telephone calls, text messages, emails and social media in an effort to effectively inform residents to protect life and property. The County anticipates using the system to notify residents in specific geographic locations of HazMat evacuations, floods, and emergencies requiring action by citizens.
The County has been provided an initial database of residential and business telephone numbers, however all residents living within Steuben County limits are encouraged to visit www.steubencony.org and click on the CodeRED logo to enroll additional contact information including cell phone numbers, text and email addresses. Those without Internet access may call Steuben County 911 Administration (607-664-2996), Monday through Friday, (8:30AM- 4PM) to supply their information over the phone.
All citizens and businesses are encouraged register, especially those who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.
Questions should be directed to the Steuben County 911 Office, 607-664-2996 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
